Psychological therapy and support for children and young people

Evidence-based psychological therapy for a range of difficulties including anxiety, low mood, developmental concerns and everyday challenges of childhood and family life. We work in a range of ways to support your child and family, including direct work with parents, joint work with parents and child, and individual work with the child or young person. This is decided in partnership with parents and their child, or the young adult, and will be guided by individual need, age and development stage. Where appropriate, we may also work directly or indirectly with schools.

We have significant experience in working with a range of conditions and experiences, including the following:

  • Neurodevelopmental conditions and differences, including Autism and ADHD
  • Emotional & treatment difficulties associated with health conditions
  • Anxiety, including specific difficulties such as phobias, OCD, generalised anxiety, separation anxiety, social anxiety
  • Depression and low mood
  • Adjustment difficulties
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Behaviour difficulties
  • Toileting & feeding

Clinical approaches may include CBT, systemic, narrative and integrative therapies alongside play-based interventions. Using information and an understanding of the specific concerns from the assessment phase, we will work with you to build a tailored evidence-based intervention, with the aim of achieving positive change and working through the goals set by you and your child/young person.
